Who You Are, Your Mission, Your Audience?

I got tremendous value from the assignment of;

 • Who Are You?

• What’s Your Mission?

• Who is Your Audience?

I can see the applications for this strategy can be used across many platforms. For query letters, for telephone calls, networking events, and many many more.

I find it much easier to approach, if you think about this in the reverse and build backwards.

Begin with...

Who is your Audience?

Who are you talking to?

Who are you wanting to connect with?

then...

What's Your Mission?

What is it you want them to do?

What are you trying to achieve?

What do you want?

which then provides the foundation for creating...

Who Are You?

Adapt who you are in order to make yourself relative to your audience.

Therefore, putting this into practice...

For example, if I want to make a telephone call to Christopher Vogler, to ask him to speak at an event for Emerging Screenwriters, then;

Who is your Audience? - Christopher Vogler

What's Your Mission? - To ask Christopher Vogler to volunteer to lend his time to speak at an event for Emerging Screenwriters.

Now, in order to make who I am relative to Christopher Vogler, I need to address who I am in relation to him. Since I am also happen to be a Subscriber to The Business of Show Institute, run by Marvin Acuna, and listened to Marvin's live teleseminar with Christopher Vogler, then in this instance:

Who Are You? I'm a subscriber to Marvin Acuna's Business of Show Institute who listened to Chris's live teleseminar.

So, now I know who I am, what my mission is, and who my audience is. Now, all I need is Christopher Vogler's number :)
